Objectives Cinema is becoming digital; television is already digital; digital HDTV is coming. Through the use of cross-media format standards and technologies, we will be able to integrate the production, postproduction, and archiving of broadcast, film, and other media content. The Tools for Media Production project will demonstrate tools for a distributed production system for film and broadcast work. Through the development of a working distributed production archive model, an open architecture for digital cinema, television, HDTV, and mobile content will be established. The model will include both the creation and processing of image, multiple sound channels, and metadata - as well as integrated asset and rights management solutions |
